Field Clean Up Days / Field & Shack Bond Info

A BIG thank you to all those that helped this weekend!

Remaining Field Clean Up Schedule:

Friday 4/3   10 AM to 2 PM

Saturday 4/4 8 AM to 4 PM

Our League was built on the foundation of VOLUNTEERS as we need your assistance in maintaining and enhancing our community Baseball and Softball Complex.  The operation of our all-volunteer league and the concession stand at Green Brook Fields continues to require family support. Accordingly, it is required that GBLL member families fulfill two work bond requirements for the 2015 – A Field Work Bond AND a Shack Work Bond. The bond part of the requirement is a fee that is paid if the family does not work the required hours. If the hours are worked, then there is no additional charge to the member families. There are separate hour and fee requirements for the work and shack bonds.

Field Work

Field work bond volunteer time is accomplished through field work during March before the season begins in order to prepare the fields for the season. The Field Bond work requirement is 8 hours (may be split across multiple days) and the bond is $150. If a family does not complete the required field work hours before the season, A check for $150 must be given to the player’s manager before that player will be permitted to play in any games. The last day to fulfill the work bond requirement for the season is April 4th 2015.

We are requesting that you bring lawn equipment you might have such as rakes, shovels, leaf blowers, etc. to assist in the cleanup.

Team Managers are exempt from the Work bond requirement and Team Coaches receive 4 hours of credit toward their work bond.

Shack Work

Shack Bond volunteer time is accomplished throughout the spring recreation season by working a total of 6 hours in the snack shack. An email will go out shortly with instructions on how to sign up for your shack volunteer time on the www.gbll.org website. The shack bond requirement is $60. You must write a check out for this amount and give it to your player’s manger to hold before the season begins. The Board will make each manager accountable to hold on the shack bond checks and no player that has not handed in a the shack check will be permitted to start the season. At the end of the season, the Managers will receive a list of those who have completed the shack work requirement and will return those checks without them being cashed. The last day to fulfill the Shack bond work requirement for the season is June 6th 2015.

If you have already paid your bond (s) using the Optional payments from the registration menu, please disregard this notice as you are exempt from working for this season.

We look forward to seeing you at the fields!

GBLL Baseball Gear Swap

GBLL Baseball Gear SWAP

Clean out your Garage while you clean up the Fields!
We will set up an area at our field clean-up days for families to donate their gently used baseball gear to the next generation of GBLLers!

Please feel free to come and take anything you can use. You do not have to donate to take items home. We just want to place equipment that is no longer needed in the hands of those that will use it.

Let's help our GBLL teammates out!

T-Ball & Coach Pitch League FAQs

For those who are new to Green Brook Little League, here are answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:What activities does the registration include?

A:There are some pre-season practices once the teams are chosen and then approximately 12 regular season games.

Q: When is the season?

A: We hope to start games around March 28th but that may be delayed due to the severe winter. We will go to approximately June 1st.

Q: When are the games played?

A: There is usually one game on Saturday morning/afternoon and another game on a weeknight at 6 PM. The day during the week may vary due to weather and scheduling.

Q: My player is 5 years old and has no experience with baseball. Where should she/he start?

A:  Introduction to Baseball (T-Ball) is the best place to start and get ready for the next level. It is a lot of fun!

Q: My player is older than the Intro to Baseball age but doesn't have a lot of baseball experience. Can they start in the Coach Pitch League?

A: Absolutely! The Coach Pitch League is an instructional environment where kids can learn fundamentals whyle playing the games
